K is for Kiss and L is for Lacey

I have slacked on the "about me" challenge. This post is a two for one deal, because you are getting the letters "K" and "L" . I am cheating and I am lazy. Whatevs.... I just closed on a house so I am celebrating with popcorn and TopGear. Tanner Foust is invited to my new house when ever he wants. For serious.

I also can't stop laughing. Like uncontrollably. My husband thinks I am a mad woman. I had ButterBuds smeared on my face like a lady. Popcorn for dinner = FAIL.

Anyways back to kissing Lacey.

She looks thrilled.

I promise a more coherent post tomorrow.
Did I mention this was my first house? and that we had margaritas BEFORE closing to celebrate? Nothing like dealing with a boring closing a bit tipsy. Classy. I know.

Okay, I am rambling. Night loves!

I can be girly.

So I am typically not a girly girl. I would love to be, but I have horses. I also lack time and patience and when I try, I typically fail. I really can't do nails. They end up ragged and lopsided and I can't color in the lines! Well last week I got the opportunity to try out Czech glass nail files. I thought nail files were all the same. Metal, paper, glass does it matter? Yes, yes it does.

When I received the opportunity to do the review I quickly went to the website to learn about glass nail files. The website was pretty classy. There were so many nail files to choose from! What was a girl to do? I chose a plain glass with blue paint. I got the 2 sided file with tip, 90mm. It is beautiful and it's purse size. Go to the website and look! A gorgeous nail file. Told you so. The file was heavier than any other file I had used and well constructed. It has a real fine grainy feel where you file, and a nice smooth grip.

I was excited to try it and my nails were looking rough. Have a mentioned I am not very good with a nail file? I typically can't do it. This nail file is great though. The glass doesn't rip or tear at your nails. It's very gentle and you get a smooth finish instantly. You know how usually you can tell you just filed your nails? Not with this one. It gives you a nice rounded easy to paint edge. With the even strokes, I wasn't butchering and having to file and re-file so my nails ended up staying long and pretty. I was impressed! I instantly went online and ordered one for my sister. I think I might have to order more colors for myself!

Warming up the Keurig!

Coffee Mug Swap

I got to participate in my first swap!
Dalayne  and Britt were the lovelies in charge of this one and it was great.

We were all given someone to stalk get to know. Secret Santa style of course. I got to follow Melissa around and she is a sweet heart. Ya'll head over her and visit her. She is a sweetheart and the best part of the swap for me was watching her reaction to the mug I got her!

Then I got my mug!!!

Carly at Lipgloss and Crayons was my stalker and she did an awesome job. I love my state and my hometown and the south and she nailed it! I am using this mug asap. Apple cider, hot chocolate, pumpkin spice... The fall just got a little better!

The ladies!

So here I am to introduce 2 more of my lovely sponsors. I have grown to adore my sponsors. They make me laugh, teach me new stuff and are genuinely entertaining. So here are the ladies of the week!

lala Lists
First up Rachel at LaLa Lists

She is such a social butterfly. She always has something going on! Different swaps and link ups. I love taking a minute from work to see what is going on in her world. I love her fashion ideas. Like her loving lately posts. Those outfits are amazing. She needs to redo my closet. She is also hilarious. Her opinions linky was my favorite linky ever. I could find about 564635 more posts that I loved. Okay so she hasn't even posted that many times, but if she had..... Now go over to her blog space and check her out. Tell her I sent you.

Another great sponsor this month? Megan at Shaping up to be mom. Her family is adorable. She sells cute clothes at Cents of Style. Her Nitty Gritty of Blogging tips are really helpful. She tells it like it is here. Okay, that post was perfect for me. I thought that I would be a bad mom because I didn't love kids, but she is an awesome mom. Maybe I can do it. She is also really talented. So check her out! ASAP!

See why I love my sponsors?

She found her roommate where?!

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

My mom has a strange friend. A very strange friend. I don't mean to be ugly, but bless her heart.
Let's call her Dino, I don't know why...it just feels right to call her Dino. Well Dino is going through a pretty nasty divorce that includes some pretty interesting loops and turns. It is my new soap opera. Dino has the ability to laugh about it too, so no worries.

During this whole mess she ends up finding a roommate that according to my mama is even stranger than she is. We had a conversation about it the other day, that went a little like this...

Mom: "Did you get the chance to meet Dino's weird roommate."
Me: " No where did she find this roommate?"
Mom: " a support group "
Me: "Oh , So what makes you think this woman is weird?" (not gettin it...)
Mom: "She collects furniture, but not like I do." (still not getting it...)

So in this woman's furniture collection she has a gold and red formal dining room table with a giant green peace sign in the middle. She has several random pieces in random colors of the rainbow. Nothing matches. It's a garage full of mismatched oddities. One gem in the collection, a T.V. that has been converted into a cat bed/litter box combo. THE LADY DOES NOT OWN A CAT. She bought it just in case. She has had it for years and never got a cat. Hmmm....

Apparently the two of them could't live together. Their types of weird don't mesh. Some times all you can do is shake your head.

A weekend in crap kickers

I spent my weekend on the farm in shiz kickers. Those are cowboy boots for those of you who aren't up on the country girl lingo. I spent the weekend petting cows, loving my farmer husband, laughing with my sister, and hanging out with my farmer dad. I am still in a state of bliss and will be for a few days.

Ya'll wanna take a mini vacay to the farm? Okay, turn on some country music, close out the world, look at these photos and pretend you are there.

My lovely hammock that dad hung over a ledge. Once your in, you don't move.

The courthouse in town. Town is 20 minutes from us.

One of my favorite cows. She needs to be a cow model.

Daddy bailing hay!

Dad's tractor has AC and a stereo... farming is hard.

No explanation needed.

The rake looks really cool!

My hot farmer.

My favorite crap kickers ever. Thank you hubby!

The hay field with the hills behind it.

Hard at work? Hardly working? You decide.

The 100+ year old barn.
That tree makes our car look tiny
Again with the view

So that was my weekend!

I have a hammock calling my name...

Photobucket

Dear Friday, Took ya long enough! This week has been dragging along, I am sleep deprived and stressed to the max. At least mama is letting me leave work at 2pm today! Dear Farm, I love you. I miss you. I cannot wait to see you. 2.5 hours until I am in the car and on my way to see your beautiful rolling hills and lay in that hammock. Follow me on twitter or Facebook or instagram (lilmrsh) for pictures. Dear puppies, Ready for a puppy weekend? Like 48 hours attached to my hip- riding in the gator- playing in the river fun... it's about to happen! Dear hubs, one week until we are home owners. EEK! Thank you for buying my childhood home for me. Thank you for not being mad that I have been a stress basket. Dear past week, wow... we had a baby born. Then the sister had to go the hospital for major issues and then hub's cousin was life flighted from a car accident and we were told he wouldn't make it. It's been crazy and stressful. I thank God that we didn't lose the hub's cousin. He is actually doing great! And I am thankful for the new baby cousin. She is gorgeous. Dear followers, You rock. Your comments and encouraging words keep me from screaming. I adore each and everyone of you.

Let the wedding planning begin!

You know that friend that is always the bridesmaid? She is always at the showers, the bridal luncheons and the bachelorette parties. My friend Em is that girl. She is always the one planning the weddings, but never the one walking down the aisle. She owns quite a few bridesmaid dresses. Em is a pretty girl, and she has been in a few serious relationships but nothing that led to marriage.

Well... that changed last weekend! Em is engaged! She sent me a text saying that he proposed and we get to plan a wedding for Fall 2013. I immediately thought back to the horrors of my wedding planning. She promised me that she would make sure the bridesmaids had stylish dresses and I sighed with relief.

When I took my bridesmaids dress shopping there were issues. The boutique had the color we wanted but did not have many options. Most of the girls were petite and it did not matter, but for my maid of honor it was difficult. She has curves and everything she tried on showed it all a little too much. She hated dress shopping and I felt awful making her do it.

Maybe Em’s bridesmaid dress shopping will go a little better. Especially since I found  WeddingtonWay and there awesome selection. Seriously, there are so many options and designers. I clicked around and found the watters bridesmaid dresses. They are gorgeous, Em's style and I think we can find an option that will work for everyone. Plus, the dresses come in all styles so we could find something we could wear again. I am pretty excited and I can't wait to show Em. Seriously, if you are planning a wedding check them out.

I just wanna be lazy!!!

Well, we were supposed to close on the house on Friday. Supposed to. Yeah, that's not happening. The place my parents are buying had hidden covenants. Yep, the people conveniently forgot that. The place is 12 acres so I don't understand why the neighbors have to approve every plant you put in anyways. My parents are fighting it. If they don't get it resolved they are not buying the house. Then they get to rent from me until they find a lake house they love.

Anyways after the stressful, we are buying the house-we are backing out - it's being pushed back- blah blah blah game, I need a vacation. (Wow, how is that for a run-on) Dad and hubby have to go do a head count on the cows and check the babies. Dad headed down today to cut the hay and Chris will bale it Saturday.

What will I do? Work at being professionally lazy. If you read my previous lazy post you will see I am already pretty good at it!

Well, if ya want my opinion...

I love telling people what I think. About 90% of the time it gets me in trouble, but Rachel at LaLa lists said that today I could let the opinions fly in her opinion link up. Oh girl, be prepared.

1. I think all cars deserve names.
2. I think rude people should not be allowed in public. Seriously, I am sorry you are having a bad day, but you don't need to bring me down too!
3. Everything is prettier by candle light.
4. There is nothing more powerful than prayer.
5. There is also nothing like a dog's love.
6. There should be iPhone addiction groups. I need to join one.
7. Water should taste better. Then maybe I could drink it.
8. Baby's should not be cute, it is dangerous. Baby fever is a serious condition.
9. Sleep is a drug. I crave my pillow.
10. Fall is the bomb.com. I love the cozy weather.
11. Milkshakes made with vanilla almond milk are better than normal milk shakes.
12. Butter pecan ice cream is straight from Heaven.
13. There is no greater therapy than that found on the back of a horse.
14. Sweet tea is a necessity.
15. Miranda Lambert knows what's up. Seriously, the girl and I could be B.F.F
16. There is nothing like getting lost in a good book.
17. Everyone deserves that person that loves them and gets them like no other.
18. Driving down a back road, between hay fields with the windows down is amazing.

Okay that's enough for now. Link up with Lala Lists and give your opinions too!

J is for junk

Why do I have so much junk? Okay, so it's not really junk. It's kitchen stuff and clothes, but I am realizing in a few short weeks I have to move all this stuff. Do you ever look around and ask, "Do I really need all this stuff?!"

So here are the things I cannot leave behind!

1. My Ikea Expedite workstation . I love the cubbies for organizing. I love the color. I love how it looks. I love it.

2. My dana comforter from bed bath and beyond. It is super comfy and warm.

3. My crockpot. I honestly, I cook everything in it. Tomorrow it will slave over a lasagna while I am at work.

4. My elmer horse figurines. When I got thrown from Casper and had to retire him, the hubby bought me Elmers that were white and looked just like My boy. They go where I go. Love them and love him.

So that is the "junk" I will never leave behind!

Social Sunday

Sunday Social
This week I am linking up with Neely at A Complete Waste of Makeup for the Sunday Social.
Here are the questions...
1. What is the name of your blog and how did you come up with it??
I have always loved the charm of living in the south and being a true southern belle. I love the front porches, the pecan trees and the hay fields. There is something so graceful about it all, except... there's that whole small town everyone knows everyone thing. That leads to a lot of cliques and drama. Miranda Lambert explains it best, " I've been saved by the grace of southern charm." and "I don't have to be hateful, I can just say bless your heart." With southern charm you have the grace to pull off saying what's on your mind. In my blog I try to pull it off!

2. What do you love the most about blogging??
I love meeting new people and being me. This was started as a place to vent and has morphed into something much more.

3. What are your 2 favorite posts you've written?

Rescue, Rescue, Rescue!  Something near to my heart.
And I am indecisive so one more...

4. What is something you'd want to tell someone just starting out in blog world? Well, I am still just a little blog trying to grow up, but one thing I have learned is that it takes work and planning. Like go get a planner and jot down ideas and link ups and mentions ect.

5. Biggest blogging learning experience you've had?
You have to reach out to people. I was shocked once I started interacting how much feed back I got!

6. Give us 3 blogs we NEED to be following that you love.

Captured Moments  Amazing photos and the kid is 15!
The Graceful Disaster She is hilarious.
Living in Yellow Also hilarious.

Always. Sometimes. Never- WE ARE HAVING A BABY

Okay so not we as in me and the hubs, but we as in the family. Yesterday, my cousin and I were at work and her water broke. Yep, she got to leave work early, lucky lady.

I always think Chris would be a good dad. Then I realize that means I have to push a watermelon through my lady parts.
Sometimes I forget that part and my body is like, "hey your clock is ticking!"
I am thinking that this point in my cousins delivery that never having a baby sounds pretty good. They are saying she will be in labor 27 hours once it's all said in done. Oh Em Gee!

Dad just texted me from the hospital and asked if I really want to have a baby one day. I asked if he REALLY felt the need to ever be a Grandpa or if we could just skip that. Just kidding.

So that's what I am doing today. Waiting on Ms. Baby to make her entrance. I always get to be the one holding down the fort at work, but that's okay. Sometimes I am afraid a situation that I haven't encountered before will pop up and I won't know what to do. There is never a dull moment around this place.

Hey baby!

I had post planned for today as well as a link up, but at 5pm today my cousin and I were sitting at our desks and her water broke! So I am on my way to the hospital. Say some prayers and send good thoughts for mama and baby! See y'all tomorrow.

My brain resembles a fried egg.

Seriously the day after Labor day was insane at work. I had to work yesterday and it was slow paced and relaxed. Not today! We were insane. People were grouchy. We got sent to Atlanta at 7pm and 3 lanes were closed. I can't form sentences, but ecards sum it up.

Chris listened to Talk Radio. Lucky me.

What I should have done

And the last one. This one was obviously made just for the ATL.

I will be back to normal tomorrow. I promise. If not you can all send me hate mail. JUST KIDDING. I love ya'll, so love me back! (Cough Cough-GFC -Cough Cough)

Something smells like a wet dog

This weekend I started out cranky. I hate Eve. Once a month I wonder what the hell that woman was thinking. My poor husband probably hates her too, because this weekend there were a few times I caught myself stepping into psycho. Fo' Realz.

Chris spent the morning cutting grass while I pouted over nothing got dressed and stomped around started the laundry. When he finished he managed to get my cranky rump in the car and we headed to Dock Dogs. At this point I was so pissy over nothing that the man was taking his life in his own hands just dealing with me. I love him for this.

If you love dogs and never have gone to a Dock Dog event, go. Actually take a moment to look up it up. You back? Okay.  The dogs are so into what they are doing. You can see them twitching with excitement. The handlers praise the dogs no matter how poorly they do and every one has a genuine good time. Plus, there is the added fun of friendly competition.
One focused pup!

Leaving the dock!

Any dog can compete, and we saw it all. My favorites included:
Bully breed mutt!

The Awesome Little dog!

A pitt/pointer 2 pit mix's that are representing the breed beautifully. I am a sucker for anyone promoting the breed in a positive way and these two do it successfully.

There was a lab puppy that was 6 months old. Her handler was a boy that was about 12. They made cutest pair. She kinda belly flopped in, until she didn't. She did so well in practice and then froze on stage. She just sat there like, "how 'bout I just sit up here and look pretty? Good for you?" I think she will get it eventually. If anything she looked adorable doing it.

There was a cairn terrier, yes you read that right, Toto himself. That little dog flew farther than some of the big dogs! He had some major little dog swag that comes with being awesome.

Then there was a veteran lab, teaching a child how to be a handler. It was so sweet. Even when the kid wasn't focused the dog behaved perfectly. If that doesn't make you tear up your heartless. Just kidding. Maybe.

Then there was a mutt that was a family dog. After her jump she ran to her family to greet them. The dad of the group was in a wheelchair and thinking about him telling her she was perfect and loving her while the wife(handler) looked on, giving them there moment still makes me cry. I am such a softy.

On Sunday, we took we took the dogs watch. They behaved wonderfully and I tried to convince Riley that this was totally his sport. I am not sure he is on board, but I am gonna try. After we were done there, we headed to the hubby's family dinner. They are all from Chicago and it is a bit of culture shock even after 8 years for this southern girl. They are arguing about stuff just to argue, it is so loud and there family is huge! I actually like being apart of a big family now. It took awhile to get used to, but now I am part of the chaos! They are not bad for in-laws.

Now I need to rest up to get ready for next week!
